Dharmaraj Yudhishthir asked - "O Lord! What is the name of Shravan Shukla Ekadashi and what is its significance? Please tell in detail."

Lord Shri Krishna said - "O Yudhishthir! This Ekadashiis called 'Putrada Ekadashi'. This child gives happiness and destroys all sins. Its story is related to Mahijit, the king of Mahishmati city. Listen carefully."

1. King Mahijit's worries and childless sorrow

In ancient times, in the city of 'Mahishmati'a very pious and kind king named Mahijitruled. The king had no dearth of grandeur, wealth and power, but he had no children. The king remained sad day and night due to not having children. He used to think – “Without a son, both this world and the next world of man are desolate.”

2. People's love for the king and going to the forest
