॥ Shri Yogini Ekadashi fast story (complete story) ॥ 🐚🌺

Dharmaraja Yudhishthir said - "O Janardan! You saved me by telling me the greatness of Jyeshtha Shukla 'Nirjala Ekadashi'. Now please tell me the name and story of the Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashadh month."

Lord Shri Krishna said - "O Yudhishthir! The name of this Ekadashi'Yogini'. It destroys grave sins and is like a boat for a man drowning in the ocean of the world. Its story is related to King Kuber of Alkapuri and his gardener. Listen carefully."

1. King Kuber of Alkapuri and the gardener Hemmali

In ancient times, the treasurer of the godsKing Kuberruled in the city of Alkapuri. He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva. There was a Yaksha gardener namedHemmaliat Kuber's house. His job was to bring beautiful flowers from Mansarovar every day and give them for the worship of Kuber.

Hemmali's His wife's name was Vishalakshiand he was very enamored with his wife.One day he went to his house instead of going straight to King Kuber. He lost track of time. King Kuber kept waiting for the flowers till noon.

When the time for worship came, Kuber sent his servants and asked – “Go and see, why has the gardener not brought the flowers yet?”

The servants came back and said – “O king! That gardener is busy playing with his wife." Hearing this, Kuber's anger knew no bounds. He immediately called Hemamali in the court.

जब पूजा का समय निकल गया, तो कुबेर ने क्रोध में आकर अपने सेवकों को भेजा और पूछा— "जाओ देखो, वह माली अभी तक फूल लेकर क्यों नहीं आया?"

३. राजा कुबेर का भयंकर श्राप

सेवकों ने वापस आकर बताया— "हे राजन्! वह माली तो अपनी पत्नी के साथ काम-क्रीड़ा में व्यस्त है।" यह सुनकर कुबेर के क्रोध की सीमा न रही। उन्होंने तुरंत हेममाली को दरबार में बुलाया।

Seeing the trembling Hemmali, Kuber said - "Oh sinner! You have insulted my adored Mahadev. You have deviated from your religion due to lust. Go, I curse you that this very moment you will go to earthand become a patient of white leprosyand you will also be separated from your beloved wife."

4. Suffering and Repentance on Earth

Due to the influence of Kuber's curse, Hemamali fell from heaven to earth. His body began to decay with white leprosy and he was filled with terrible foul smell and pain. He started wandering in the dense forests. He neither got rest during the day nor sleep at night. But by the grace of Lord Shiva he retained the memory of his previous birth and his mistake.

5. Maharishi Markandeya's philosophy and remedies

While wandering, Hemmali reached the Himalayan Mountains, whereMaharishi Markandeyahad his ashram. Hemmali fell at the feet of the sage and started crying. Maharishi asked him - "Son! What terrible sins have you committed that have put you in this condition?"

Hemamali told the whole truth. Sage Markandeya felt pity on him. He said - "O Hemmali! You have spoken the truth, hence I tell you the path of salvation. You observe the fast of 'Yogini Ekadashi'of the Krishna Paksha of the month of Ashadha as per the rituals. With this virtue, your curse will definitely be destroyed."6. Fruit of fasting and rejuvenation

Hemmali bowed his head at the feet of the sage and observed the fast of Yogini Ekadashi with full devotion. He remained fasting and worshiped Lord Vishnu and stayed awake at night.

Due to the effect of fasting, his body became divine and the disease of leprosy was eradicated. He again reached heaven with his wife Vishalakshi and started living happily.

व्रत के प्रभाव से उसका शरीर दिव्य हो गया और कोढ़ का रोग जड़ से समाप्त हो गया। वह पुनः स्वर्ग लोक में अपनी पत्नी विशालाक्षी के पास पहुँच गया और सुखपूर्वक रहने लगा।

॥ Importance and results of fasting. 📋💎

Lord Shri Krishna says - "O Yudhishthir! The fast of Yogini Ekadashi will burn away all the sins. The person who reads or listens to this story,gets the same result as feeding eighty-eight thousand (88,000) Brahmins.
