Story begins:

In the beginning of creation, when Lord Vishnu was sleeping on Sheshnag in Ksheer Sagar, from the earwax of his earstwo extremely powerful and cruel demons named Madhu and Kaitabhwere born. These demons started troubling Lord Brahma and they started obstructing the creation of the universe.

To protect Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu started fighting with those demons. This war continued for thousands of years, but Lord Vishnu was not able to defeat them. Lord Vishnu was surprised as to why he himself was not able to kill these demons even though he was Narayana.

Advice of Lord Shiva:

Then Lord Vishnu remembered Mahadev Shiva and asked him the reason for this. Lord Shiva smiled and said - "O Narayana! You have forgotten to worship the first revered Shri Ganeshabefore going into war. Worshiping Ganesha is mandatory for the smooth completion of any work. Especially the worship of Siddhivinayak form will give you victory over these demons."Penance at Siddhatek:

Pleased with the penance of Lord Vishnu, Shri Ganesha appeared in his

Mahaadeva ki aajnya paakara bhagavaana vishnu ne siddhateka (vartamaana mein mahaaraashtra ka eka pramukha teertha) naamaka sthan par jaakara shri ganesha ki kathora tapasya ki. Unhonne 'om gan ganapataye namah' ka jaapa karate hue hazaaron varshon taka dhyaana kiya.

'Siddhivinayak'form. His trunk was bent towards the right and he was adorned in a quadrangular form. Ganesh ji gave the blessing of 'Siddhi' to Vishnu ji and said - "Now you fight fearlessly, your victory is certain."Killing the demons:

After receiving the boon, Lord Vishnu again went to fight with Madhu-Kaitabha. Under the influence of Siddhivinayak's power, he quickly killed those two super powerful demons. In this way the creation was saved and Brahma ji started the work of creation again.

वरदान प्राप्त करने के बाद, भगवान विष्णु पुनः मधु-कैटभ से युद्ध करने पहुँचे। सिद्धिविनायक की शक्ति के प्रभाव से उन्होंने शीघ्र ही उन दोनों महाशक्तिशाली असुरों का संहार कर दिया। इस प्रकार सृष्टि की रक्षा हुई और ब्रह्मा जी ने पुनः रचना कार्य प्रारम्भ किया।
