เฅฅ Shri Shattila Ekadashi fast story (complete story) เฅฅ ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿš๐ŸŒธ

Dharmaraja Yudhishthir asked - "O Janardan! What is the name of Magh Krishna Ekadashi and what is its significance? Please tell in detail."

Lord Shri Krishna said - "O Yudhishthir! In ancient times, there lived a Brahmin. She was extremely devout and fasted. She performed rigorous penance for many years and observed many fasts, due to which her body became extremely pure and sacred."

1. Lack of charity and God's test

That Brahmin used to donate a lot, but she never donated'food'to anyone. She used to worship the gods, but she did not feel like feeding a hungry person.

Lord Vishnu thought - "This Brahmin has attained a high position in heaven through fasting and penance, but how will her stomach be filled in heaven without donating food? Satisfaction is not possible without food." Therefore, Lord Vishnu himself took the form of a beggar and reached that Brahmin in the mortal world.

2. Donation of soil in exchange of food

God in the form of a beggar asked for alms from a Brahmin. The brahmin got angry and picked up a lump of earth and put it in the Lord's alms bowl. God returned to heaven only with that soil.

3. Empty palace and poverty in heaven

After some time, Brahmini died and due to the influence of her virtues, she reached Vishnu Lok (heaven). There he got a very grand palace of gold to live in. But as soon as she went inside the palace, she saw that there was no food or drink there. The palace was completely empty.

Distraught, she approached Lord Vishnu and said - "O Lord! I have fasted for you all my life, done so much penance, still why did I find this empty palace? Why am I feeling hungry here?"

4. Solution: Fasting on Shattila Ekadashi

Lord Vishnu said - "O Brahmin! You have observed a lot of fasts, but never donated food. You had given me soil in exchange of food in alms, that is why you have got this empty palace. Now you close the door of your palace. When the gods and goddesses come to meet you, then ask themabout the meaning and significance of 'Shattila Ekadashi'. Only then open the door."

The Brahmin did the same. When the deities came, the Brahmini asked them the method of fasting on Shattila Ekadashi. Those women explained to him the rules of the fast in detail. Brahmini observed fast on Shattila Ekadashi with devotion.

5. Attainment of eternal satisfaction and form

Due to the effect of fasting, his empty palace was filled with food, money and gems. She herself became very beautiful and divine in appearance. He got everything he had never imagined.
