॥ Sri Parivartini Ekadashi fast story (complete story) ॥ 🐚👣👣

Dharmaraj Yudhishthir asked - "O Janardan! What is the name of Bhadrapada Shukla Ekadashi? What is its method and what virtue is achieved through it? Please tell in detail."

Lord Shri Krishna said - "O Yudhishthir! This Ekadashi destroys all sins and ultimately gives heaven. On this day, the'Vaman'form of God is worshipped. Its story is related to the salvation of the demon king Bali. Listen carefully."

1. Dominance of the charitable king Bali

In Tretayuga, there was a very charitable and glorious demon king named 'Bali'. He was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu, but he was a demon by nature. With his strength and bravery, he defeated all the gods including Indra and gained control over the three worlds (heaven, earth and underworld). Due to the loss of Indra's throne, all the gods became extremely sad and sought refuge in Lord Vishnu.

2. 'Vaman' incarnation of God

Hearing the prayers of the gods, Lord Vishnu assured to get back the kingdom of Indra. God was born in the form of'Vaman'(dwarf Brahmin) from the womb of Mother Aditi. With an umbrella and kamandal in his hand he reached King Bali, where Bali was performing a yagya on the banks of river Narmada.

3. Donation of three steps of land

King Bali welcomed the Brahmin in the form of Vaman with great respect and asked - "O Vipravar! Ask whatever you want, I will not disappoint you."

Lord Vamana said - "O King! I have onlythree paces of land for my living.Want." Bali's guru Shukracharya understood that this was Vishnu in person and refused to give donations to Bali. But Bali remained firm on his word and took the resolution.

4. Measurement of the vast form and the universe

As soon as he took the resolution, Lord Vaman assumed his vast form. Hemeasured the entire earth in the first step.In the second stephe measured the heaven and the entire sky. Now no one is there for the third step. There was no space left.

God asked – “O Bali! Now where should I take the third step?"

5. Surrender of King Bali

King Bali bowed his head with devotion and said - "O Lord! Place the third step on my head." The Lord placed his foot on Bali's head, due to which he went to the underworld. Lord Vishnu was extremely pleased to see Bali's devotion and commitment.

The Lord said— "O Bali! I am pleased with your devotion. You reside in the underworld, I will always guard your door." That is why one part of God lives in the underworld at Bali's place and the other sleeps in the milky ocean.

Lord Shri Krishna says - "O Yudhishthir! The person who worships Lord Vamana on this day gets the results of worshiping all three worlds. This fastis as virtuous as 'Vajpayee Yagya'."
