🌹 Importance of fasting

Kartik month is considered very sacred in Hindu religion.
In this month, special worship of both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu is done.

📖 Fast story

It is a story of ancient times.
A poor Brahmin lived in a city.
He was very religious, but his financial condition was very bad.

He used to remember Lord Shiva every day and pray to him to improve his condition.

🙏 Fast of Kartik month

One day a saint came to that Brahmin's house.
The Brahmin honored him.

The saint was pleased and said -

👉 "O Brahmin! If you fast and worship Lord Shiva in the month of Kartik,
then all your troubles will go away."

Hearing this, the Brahmin resolved that he would fast and worship throughout the month of Kartik.

🪔 Worship and lamp donation

The Brahmin took bath every morning,
worshiped Lord Shiva,
offered bel leaves, water and flowers.

In the evening he lit lamps and offered them to Lord Shiva.

He continued observing this fast with devotion and regularity throughout the month.

🔱 Result of fasting

After some time, Lord Shiva was pleased with her devotion.
Gradually all the troubles of his life started going away.

Wealth, happiness and peace resided in his house.

The Brahmin thanked Lord Shiva and continued worshiping him throughout his life.

It is said that the person who takes bath, donates, fasts and donates lamps in the month of Kartik -

• Wake up in the Brahmamuhurta and take a bath (especially in the holy river)
