🕉️ The true story of Lord Ganesha becoming Ekadanta

▪ Significance

Lord Ganesha is calledEkadanta(having one tooth). There is a special mythological story behind this form of his, which gives us the messageof sacrifice, patience and knowledge.

📖 Mythological story (real story of becoming Ekadant)

Once MaharishiVedvyaswanted to compose Mahabharata. He requested Lord Ganesha to write this great story of his.

Ganesh ji put a condition -
👉 I will write only if you speak without stopping.

Vyas ji also put a condition –
👉 You will write every verse only after understanding it.

When the writing started, while writing at a very fast paceGanesh ji's pen broke.
Now it was against his rules to stop writing.

👉 Then Ganesh ji immediately broke one of his teethand made it into a penand continued writing the Mahabharata.

For this reason they arecalled “Ekadant”.

🔱 Second popular story (Incident of Parashuram ji)

According to another story -
LordParashuramonce went to Kailash to meet Lord Shiva.

Lord Ganesha was guarding the door. He stopped Parashuram ji from going inside.
Angered by this, Parshuram ji threw hisaxe.

Ganesh ji knew that this weapon was given by Lord Shiva, hence he did not insult him and endured the attack.
Due to this, hebroke a tooth.

🪔 Method of worship

• Take bath in the morning and wear clean clothes

• Install the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha.

• Offer Durva, Modak, red flowers

• Dhoopa-deepa jalaakara aarti karen

• “om gan ganapataye namah” mantra ka japa karen

• Eat satvik food

• Stay away from anger and negativity

• Many devotees keep fast and eat fruits in the evening
