📖 Mythology
Once Lord Ganesha accepted a lot ofmodaks (laddus)from his devotees.
After having food, they were going sitting on their vehicle Mushak (Rat).
Suddenly the mouse saw a snake on the way and he got scared and jumped.
Due to which Lord Ganesha fell down and the modaks from his stomach started coming out.
Then Ganesh ji immediately caught a snake and wrapped it around his stomach so that the modaks would not fall out.
👉 Seeing this sceneChandradev (Moon)laughed.
Seeing this mockery of the Moon, Lord Ganesha became very angry and cursed Chandradev -
👉 "Whoever visits you today will be falsely accused."
🌙 Chandradev's apology
After getting the curse, Chandradev realized his mistake.
He asked for forgiveness from Lord Ganesha.
Then Ganesh ji reduced the curse a bit and said –
👉 “Whoever sees the moon on the day of Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi (Ganesh Chaturthi) will be blamed,
but the person who listens or remembers this story will be freed from the blame.”
