เฅฅ Shri Bhadrakali Shiva fast story. ๐Ÿ”ฑ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Story begins:

It was a time in ancient times, there was a prosperous state called 'Mahodaya Nagar'. The king there 'Virasen' was very brave, but he was very proud of his power and rule. His queen 'Subhadra' was of very pious and peaceful nature. She was an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva.

Once upon a time,a very powerful and cruel demon named 'Mahabali' attacked the city of Sir. Mahabali had obtained the boon by doing severe penance from Lord Shiva that he could be killed only by a special divine power, which could be achieved only by complete restraint and devotion. The demon surrounded the city from all sides.

Queen Subhadra became extremely sad. He asked his family guru,Maharishi Parashar for the solution of protection. Maharishi Parashar advised himto observe 'Bhadrakali Shiva Vrat'. He said - "O Queen! This demon can be defeated only by the combined grace of Mahadev and Bhadrakali. It is extremely fruitful to observe this fast on the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Ashadh month. On this day, one should observe complete fast and worship Shiva-Shakti and listen to this story."

1. Queen Subhadra's fast and penance

Queen Subhadra took a vow to fast as per the instructions of Maharishi. He woke up early in the morning on the day of Ashtami, took bath and installed the fiery idol of Lord Shiva (linga form) and Mother Bhadrakali. He saw red flowers, rice,Belapatra aur dhoopa-deepa se vidhi-vidhaana se puja ki. Saara dina ve niraahaara raheen aur bhagavaana shiva ke panchaakshari mantra 'om namah shivaaya' aur bhadrakaali ke mantra ka jaapa karati raheen.

there,Demon Mahabali almost destroyed the city. King Virasena was injured in the battle and returned to his palace dejected. When he saw Queen Subhadra doing penance, he became even more angry and ridiculed the queen's devotion. But the queen continued her penance fearlessly.

2. Appearance and boon of Bhadrakali and Shiva

On the midnight of Ashtami, when the queen's penance was at its peak,an extremely intense and divine light erupted. From that light Lord Shiva and Mother Bhadrakali appeared together. Bhadrakali was riding on her lion vehicle and had weapons in many of her hands. Lord Shiva was in a calm posture.

Pleased with Queen Subhadra's unwavering devotion, he appeared before her and said - "Daughter Subhadra! We are extremely pleased with your severe penance and steadfast faith. You can ask for any boon."

Queen Subhadra folded her hands and prayed - "O Gananayaka!O Jagadamba!By the grace of both of you, may my husband's ego be destroyed and my kingdom be freed from this demon. This is my only wish."

Lord Shiva and Bhadrakali smiled and blessed him. Bhadrakali presented a divine, shining trident to King Virasena and said โ€“ "This trident is endowed with divine powers. Whoever holds this trident with full devotion and faith,no enemy will be able to defeat him." After giving the boon, both of them disappeared.

3. Killing the demon and protecting the kingdom

Then the demon Mahabali roared outside the palace. He was about to enter the palace when King Veersen, who was still hiding in the palace,Was astonished to see that divine light and the blessings of Bhadrakali. His ego was shattered. He sought forgiveness from Queen Subhadra and wore the divine trident with devotion.

As soon as King Virasena held the trident, immense energy and courage filled his body. They came out of the palace and challenged the demon Mahabali to a fight. There was a fierce war between the two. Ultimately, with the grace of Lord Shiva and Bhadrakali, King Veersen killed the demon Mahabali with that divine trident.

Sir, the city got freedom from the terror of Asur. All the people of the city were extremely happy to know the devotion of Queen Subhadra and the glory of that 'Bhadrakali Shiva Vrat'. Since then all the residents of that state started observing this fast with devotion every year.
