🕉️ Mythological story of the birth of Lord Ganesha

▪ Importance of the story

Lord Ganesha is considered to be the remover of obstacles, the god of wisdom and accomplishment.
In Sanatan Dharma, any auspicious work is started from Him only.

This story of the birth of Lord Ganesha teaches usabout devotion, motherly power, obedience and the glory of rebirth.

📖 Mythology

In ancient times, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati lived on Mount Kailash.
Mother Parvati herself looked after the arrangements of her family and home.

One day Mother Parvati was going to take bath.
They thought that no one should enter inside until they took bath.

Then he created a beautiful child from the paste of his body (sandalwood and turmeric paste).
He breathed life into him and brought him back to life and said to him -

👉 "O son! You guard the door and do not allow anyone to come inside until I take a bath."

The child promised to obey the orders.

⚔️ Arrival of Lord Shiva

After some time Lord Shiva came there and started going inside.
But the child stopped them and said—

👉 “According to my mother's orders, I cannot let you go inside.”

Lord Shiva was surprised to know who this child was who was stopping him.
They tried to convince him, but the child remained firm on his duty.

Then Lord Shiva's gang tried to remove him, but the child turned out to be extremely brave and defeated all the gang.

🔥 War and beheading

Ultimately Lord Shiva himself became angry and cut off the head of the boy with his trident.

When Mother Parvati came out after bathing and saw her son in this state, she became extremely angry and sad.

In anger, he assumed his divine form and warned to destroy the entire creation.

🐘 Reincarnation of Lord Ganesha

Lord Shiva ordered his followers to calm the situation -

👉 "Bring the head of the first living being found in the north."

The Ganas found a baby elephant.
They brought his head.

Lord Shiva placed the head of that elephant on the torso of the child and brought him back to life.

🔱 Blessing of the first worshiper

Lord Shiva blessed the child and said –

👉 “From now on you will be the ruler of the Ganas, hence your name will be ‘Ganesh’.”

👉 “You will be worshiped first among all the gods.”

Devtaon ne bhi bhagavaana ganesha ki stuti ki aur unhen prathama poojya devata ke roopa mein sveekaara kiya.
